What Are Small Good Things You Enjoy?

Let’s keep it light today. No bitching and whining about aging, no mention of aches and pains, and no chitchat about mean girls. No discussing annoying people, wrinkles, or sagging leg skin. Let’s talk about something fun instead.

What do you do when you’re feeling a little…off? Whenever I’m feeling out of sorts, I pull out my gratitude journal and write a list of small joys. I was paging through it this morning, and here are a few of my favorites:

Time spent with the grandkids. Oh, that squishy baby and chattering four-year-old! They banish every bad mood.

Sourdough bread toasted with cinnamon sugar.

Tending to plants and watching them grow and thrive.

Strolling around the neighborhood at a comfortable pace.

Revisiting a favorite book or movie. The Shawshank Redemption is my favorite feel-good, happy ending movie.

Laughing until it hurts moments with friends.

A favorite lasagna recipe.

Anything that comes in kitchen lemon scent.

An unexpected, genuine compliment.

Having an old song come on the radio that instantly transports you back to a happy time in your youth.

Your turn. What would yours be? I’d really love to hear!

I’m not kidding when I say I’ve bought this candle more than once…or twice…

It smells heavenly and totally indulges my love of a fresh lemon scent.

I hate eye puffiness, fine lines and bags. This stuff isn’t going to make you look 20 again, but it will reduce all of the above. It’s a favorite beauty product!

Gardening has turned into enough of a hobby that I needed my own tool kit. This is the one I got…and love.
